It means the world to me when a couple asks me to photograph their wedding but it's even more special when a close friend does. I've known Mandy since Freshman year of college before I ever knew I'd end up full time in photography. I can remember grabbing lunch with Mandy and a few close friends just after she'd met Tyler and it was hard for her to stop smiling while she told us about their first date. I've loved watching Mandy and Tyler's relationship grow throughout college and it was amazing to be reuited again for this special day.
The Ward-Pearson wedding was held at Old Salem in Winston Salem, NC. The day was beautiful and and started with hair, makeup, and of course, lots of Starbucks. Mandy and Tyler wanted to see each other for the first time at the aisle so we set the two of them up at the corner of two walls and let them hold hands without seeing one another. This was probably one of the sweetest moments of the whole day - just being able to hear in their voices how excited they both were and seeing their expressions. Also, it was wonderful knowing that as their photographer, this was a special moment only I could fully witness, as their back were turned from one another.
The ceremony was beautifully emotional and the reception was packed full of amazing NC BBQ, an adorable first dance, and then more (and lots) of dancing! Check out some photos from their special day below!
